More close to home is the section Rustan’s is most proud of: the Filipiniana section, a profusion of local handicrafts translated into various usages: bags, shawls, belts, hats, waste paper baskets, stationery, garments – all nearly hand-made to please those whose taste for for the exotic is unassailable.
Shoemart’s Boutique Square, for instance, houses the local designer clothes whose brands have as much ring of quality and panache as their foreign counterparts: Jeanne Coulbourn, Christian Espitiru, de la Cuesta are perennical bestsellers.
