Shopping

For those who believe that conspicuous consumption, when handled with a modicum of decency, is on of life’s larger pleasure, Manila alive today with the shopping complexes, is becoming hourly a more pleasurable place.

From designer clothes to designer perfumes to designer linens – the names and the signature logos that spring to mind are like oases in a dessert in that they quench one’s thirst for the chic-est in ultimate lifestyle: Picasso, Cassini, Dior, Gucci and so much more.

Where does one find them? Start at Harrison Plaza and one kills two birds with one stone for it houses two of the country’s largest shopping marts: Rustan’s and Shoemart. Rustan’s is the premier establishment for name foreign brands whose
merchandise spill forth in kaleidoscope array. More close to home is the section Rustan’s is most proud of: the Filipiniana section, a profusion of local handicrafts translated into various usages: bags, shawls, belts, hats, waste paper baskets, stationery, garments – all nearly hand-made to please those whose taste for for the exotic is unassailable.

Shoemart’s Boutique Square, for instance, houses the local designer clothes whose brands have as much ring of quality and panache as their foreign counterparts: Jeanne Coulbourn, Christian Espitiru, de la Cuesta are perennic
al bestsellers.

I will be excited to share everything I know !!!!!!!
